Artist. Inventor. Educator. Visionary.

Dr. Janese Swanson has spent her career at the intersection of imagination and innovation. Long before "STEM" was a household term, Janese was redesigning the landscape of educational technology.

As a co-developer of the iconic Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? series and the founder of Girl Tech, she has dedicated her life to proving that technology is a powerful tool for creativity—especially when placed in the hands of children. Her work has earned her international acclaim, with her inventions like the Yak Bak and the Password Journal becoming staples of a generation’s childhood.

With several academic degrees, including an Ed.D. in Education Organization and Leadership with Emphasis in Technology, Janese’s approach to teaching is backed by deep research into how children play, learn, and create. She has been recognized as one of the "Top 25 Women on the Web" and a "Woman of the Year" by Ms. Magazine.

Today, she brings that same spirit of innovation to the classroom. As an award-winning art teacher, Janese founded GoToArtClass.com to bridge the gap between traditional artistic mastery and the emerging world of AI.

Her Mission: I believe every child is an inventor at heart. By teaching students to master both the physical "brush" in the Studio and the digital 'Secret Code' algorithms in the AI Lab, we aren't just teaching them to make art—we're teaching them to design the future.
